Meet Sara Zolfaghari | Founder & CEO

We had the good fortune of connecting with Sara Zolfaghari and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sara, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?

Starting my own business was always my plan. I grew up in an entrepreneurial family. My father was a pharmaceutical scientist who built many companies, in his time. My mother also started her own health & wellness spa, and was determined to grow her business, while raising her family.
I followed my parents’ footsteps, as far as pursuing higher level education and gaining work experience. I was a fourth year PhD student, when I decided that I’m being held up in the program longer than my life plans allowed. So I left the PhD program with my second master’s degree and went off to the “real world”. After working in the pharmaceutical industry as a scientist and consultant for 5 years, I finally received my calling. An idea, inspired by my 2 year old daughter that ultimately led me to start my own company, Nature Soothie.

What should our readers know about your business?
I’m the founder of Nature Soothie, a children’s health & wellness company. I started the company inspired by my little daughter. When she was younger I struggled with finding natural remedies that would help her feel better. It’s difficult enough trying to find natural soothing products for your child but having them actually taking them, is another story! The children’s medicine market mostly offers the syrup dosage forms that just didn’t work for us, so we created our soothies, all natural honey lollipop incorporating natural remedies and herbal extracts.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
There are so many things to do in LA; for daytime activities I love visiting the beaches or hike the canyons. For weekend getaways visiting Santa Barbara and Santa Ynez wine country, would be top on my list. A few of my favorite dinner spots would be Cecconi’s, Catch LA, Il Fico and AOC in West Hollywood.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I dedicate my shoutout to my late father for teaching me to follow my passion and to my mother for her positivity, strength and perseverance. I would also like to shoutout to my friend, Megan Sette, entrepreneur and founder or M collaborative for her true passion to help other founders and for introducing me to an amazing community of founders and mentors, Grid 110 in LA.
